People are always looking for a way to improve the texture, volume and overall appearance of their skin. One treatment designed to meet those needs is micro needling.
Micro needling (also known as collagen induction therapy) is a minimally invasive treatment to rejuvenate the skin. A device with fine needles creates tiny punctures in the top layer of the skin, which triggers the body to create new collagen and elastin. Results can include improved texture and firmness, as well as a reduction in scars, pore size, and stretch marks.
What is Micro Needling?
Micro needling is a skin rejuvenation procedure. Like all skin rejuvenation procedures, it is used to improve the appearance of the skin.
As a less-invasive skin treatment, micro needling involves no incisions or scarring and is sometimes combined with other aesthetic procedures.
Micro needling has been used to treat:
- Sagging skin
- Fine lines
- Dull skin
- Eye bags
- Facial aging
- Premature aging
- Sun-damaged skin
Micro needling is typically performed with a small hand piece.
How Does Micro Needling Work?
Typically, micro needling is performed as an outpatient procedure that takes just a few minutes to complete. Micro needling works by activating the skin’s natural healing processes. This is done with hundreds of tiny needles, which is how the procedure receives its name.
During micro needling:
- A skin analysis is performed to determine if the procedure is a good match.
- Using either a manual roller or an automated pen, the needles are quickly moved around the skin.
- This creates thousands of tiny punctures in the skin.
- After the procedure is complete, the punctures activate the skin’s natural healing abilities.
- By self-healing, the skin becomes more supple, smooth and youthful.
Micro needling can be used on any skin, but is most commonly used on the face. It’s important to understand that there is some pain associated with micro needling. However, many describe it as incredibly mild and not dissimilar to the flick of a rubber band.
Ultimately, micro needling is a procedure that has many aesthetic applications. While there is no “magic button” to eliminate the effects of aging, micro needling can drastically improve facial skin appearance.
Wrinkles and fine lines begin to form as the dermal layer of the skin starts losing its elasticity due to aging, sun damage, smoking and poor diet. Usually these signs of aging appear first around the lips and eyes where the skin is thin and on the forehead due to habitual expressions (frowning, raising the eyebrows).
The answer to this problem is skin cell regeneration through microneedling – numerous studies have demonstrated that the micro-trauma to the skin which occurs through using a micro-needle dermaroller stimulates new collagen and elastin which improve the thickness and smoothness of your skin.
Microneedling increases skin care products absorption.
This is highly beneficial due to the fact that the skin is a barrier, and the problem with most serums and lotions is that they sit on the outside layer of your skin and can’t be absorbed.
Due to this increased absorption of applied skin care products, it is also important that you thoroughly read the ingredients of any skin care product you add to your skin care regime during the microneedling treatments.
Sagging skin is due to the loss of elastin in the skin which normally causes the skin to ‘snap back’.
Although a surgical facelift can help sagging jowls, not much can be done for other problem areas. Even celebrities cannot escape the saggy knees and loose elbow skin. Until now, there was no answer to this problem.
Studies indicate that microneedling increases elasticity and reduce the appearance of sagging skin. However it is important to understand that if skin is very much sagging then microneedling may not be as effective as you could wish it was.
For extreme cases of sagging skin only plastic surgery is effective.
Acne Scars & Atrophic (depressed) Scars
Scars are wound closures by the body’s own connective tissue, so-called fibrosis. Microneedling creates minuscule skin damage and initiates the healing process of the scars – basically it encourages your skin to continue healing the damaged scar tissue.
Research shows Microneedling may reduce the visible appearance of acne scars and atrophic (depressed) scars by up to 70%.
A 2009 study showed that 34 of 38 people experienced an improvement of in facial scars after treatment. Any depressed (atrophic) scar such as a chicken pox scar or acne scar may be treated effectively with Microneedling.

Permanent Lip Color can Restore and Brighten Lips
There are three options;
Lip Liner – This choice enhances lip definition, corrects uneven lips, or adds fullness to the mouth:
Blended Lip Liner – A natural color faded over the entire lip/s surface
Full Lips – A lip liner with the color filled in over the lips.
Some prefer to have a very natural flesh tone color put back in their lips to make them appear fuller & to define their own natural shape. Others want their lips to look as if they have just applied their favorite lip liner & lipstick.
Whatever you choose, wear your permanent lip color alone or apply different shades of lipstick over your permanent lip color for a more dramatic look–you will find that the color lasts all day.
A strategically placed beauty mark can balance your facial features.
Think about Cindy Crawford or Marilyn Monroe and a beauty mark just under the eyes, or off to the outer corner, or above the lip comes to mind.

What are microdermabrasion treatments?
Microdermabrasion treatments use a minimally abrasive instrument to gently sand your skin, removing the thicker, uneven outer layer.
This type of skin rejuvenation is used to treat light scarring, discoloration, sun damage, and stretch marks.
- Improve age spots and black heads.
- Improve hyperpigmentation (patches of darkened skin).
- Exfoliate your skin, resulting in a refreshed appearance.
- Lessen the appearance of stretch marks.
- Reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
- Reduce or eliminate enlarged pores.
- Treat acne and the scars left by acne.
Microdermabrasion helps to thicken your collagen, which results in a younger looking complexion. Collagen is a protein in your skin that’s abundant when you’re a child and makes skin appear taut and smooth. Collagen production declines as we age, resulting in looser, uneven skin
MicroNeedling treatments can dramatically improve the texture and tone of your skin. MicroNeedling creates invisible micro-perforations in the skin to stimulate cells knows as keratinocytes to increase production of new collagen and elastin. These channels have been clinically shown to increase serum absorption by 300%. ProCell serums derived from human stem cells penetrate the channels to enhance the production of healthy new skin.
